Biography
The musical ensemble known as Catalonia first generated musical vibrations in December of the year 2003 on the white man's calendar. Three friends, Kevin Brauss, Chris Horgan, and Evan Rowe founded the band after deciding we were too socially retarded to do anything else.
We play songs originally written by Chris Horgan and Evan Rowe that benefit from the creative input of all of the respective players.
Catalonia is a D.I.Y. band and probably will be for life. Throughout 2004 we played shows around South Florida, released a 4 song self-titled EP and a 5 song untitled promo cd all with drummer Tanner Demmery. After Tanner left the band in November, we decided to spend the beginning of 2005 working on pre-production for a new full-length album. After a 5 month stint working in the studio with electronic music guru Loren Fulghum, also known as Holohedron, we were joined by drummer Kirk Georgia. Greetings, my brethren. I'm happy to announce that Ed Malone, formerly of The Necrophiles and Stardiver, is our new drummer and has fit right in with our brand of chaos.
You may have noticed that we've started playing a few shows here and there to test out our new songs. There are now far too many songs to fit on one album and we are far too disorganized and scatterbrained to seriously try the double album thing. But we've set an early December deadline on the total completion of the recording, mixing, and mastering process. Then we will send it off for pressing and are all but guarenteeing a January release. Of course, the fact that the studio is still without power two weeks after Wilma isn't helping.
So check our schedule page and/or myspace for new show dates and other news. Celebrate with us or else you will have less fun than you could.

Ok - so we aren't done with the album yet. But this time I can say honestly that 4 songs are completely finished except for mastering which comes last. We're all pleased with how it's sounding so far and are excited about finishing the remaining songs.
