This band specializes in quirky tunes. The world of Mr. E's witty songs seems almost entirely populated by often hilarious and poignant characters. The music is super creative. The name does say it all, doesn't it?

Biography
BEST ALTERNATIVE ROCK CD
Recreational Drug Usage and Cookie Consumption
Mr. Entertainment and the Latter Day Pookiesmackers
His birth certificate identifies him as Steven Toth, but everyone who’s had the occasion to meet this Hollywood-based musician and folk-art enthusiast in the past 10 years knows him as Mr. Entertainment. It’s not a nickname he takes lightly, either, as Toth is devoted to amusing his audiences, which can include longtime fans who show up for his occasional gigs at venues such as Churchill’s in Miami or passersby who happen upon his impromptu, irregular performances on street corners from Miami Beach to Hollywood. Mr. E lives up to this reputation on Recreational Drug Usage and Cookie Consumption, the studio followup to his home-recorded debut, 1926 Funstown St. This time out, he and the Pookiesmackers — Krissed Pissedofferson, Neil Peartcocet, Sexual Harassment Ford and Captain Johnson — ventured to Atlanta for a three-day recording session and returned home with another batch of songs dedicated to this great nation’s unheralded freaks, geeks and other social castoffs: “Cyclone Star” tells the story of a bizarre woman who once stayed on a Coney Island amusement ride for 27 hours straight; “Otis the Frogboy” concerns a 2-foot-2 misfit who “rolls a cigarette as fast as me or you”; and “Elvis Monroe Dickens” memorializes Toth’s own grandfather, who “was Elvis first, you see.” The album’s packaging is equally distinct: Toth takes thrift-store books (from Childcraft’s Music for the Family to a 1981 Sotheby’s catalog) and glues pictures, liner notes and lyric sheets to the pages of each, in effect creating works of art that are the very definition of entertainment.
Comments: “Life is perfect and so am I/Pass me a piece of sweet potato pie,” announces Steve “Mr. Entertainment” Toth on “Jumpin’, Leapin’, Lollipops,” the opening track on his second CD, the endlessly fun Recreational Drug Usage and Cookie Consumption. Recorded in Atlanta in a marathon three-day session, Recreational Drug Usage boasts a much-fuller sound than Mr. E’s home-recorded debut, 1926 Funstown St., yet the charm of songs such as “Feel Good Guy of the 21st Century,” “Donna Do You Wanna?” and “Otis the Frogboy” was not lost in the controlled studio setting. Mr. E and the Latter Day Pookiesmackers make music for the pure joy of it, and it’s impossible not to fall under the spell of the group’s entrancing carnival of punk, funk, rock and soul. As Mr. E himself sings, “All that glitters may not be gold, but it may be glitter.”
Starting with the One Eyed Kings, through Lee County Oswald, Fabrege Dildo, the Original Grape Juice Bros, me, Mr. Entertainment, and any of the above, have and will be slicing up the fun and serving it up rock and roll style for your early bird specials! The Pookiesmackers are a revolving set of members currently including, Mr. E (guitar, vocals), Johnny Mahone-Kris Pissedofferson (guitar), B-Dog-Sexual Harassment Ford (bass), and Mark Zolezzi -Neil Peartcocet (drums). Roscoe Beefcurtains-Captain Johnson (baritone sax) blows horn on occasions. Our newest CD is now available entitled "Loiter". We play around South Florida regularly and occasionally out of town. more later....
