This indie-rock act sprang up as a side project for members of The Heatseekers and Billy Boloby, but almost immediately took on full-time status!

The four Bittercups met after answering one of those "musicians wanted" fliers posted outside the Floridian Restaurant. The only info it gave was to"meet Saturday, 3 p.m. at the White Tank. You know, that tank." Somewhat baffled, the four strangers showed up anyway. Upon meeting one another, they realized two things: Each flier advertised a different instrument, and only four fliers were made. They decided to call the phone number listed on the flier, half expecting it to be out of service. Instead, the voice at the other end of the line said, "Thank you for calling Chow Dong; pick-up or delivery?" The band soon gave up trying to figure out just who brought them together. But that doesn't matter much. Whomever it was knew what they were doing; the foursome's musical tastes matched perfectly.

Bassist Terra Sullivan writes for City Link. We love her too, and only partially in that way.
